Egg Fast Wrap-up

Well, yesterday wrapped up my egg fast.

Today I woke up to the lowest weight-loss results since I began, and I wasn't disappointed. I knew that the longer you're in the fast, the slower your weight loss will be.

That's because you're not losing water weight, you're losing fat.

Which is a good thing, actually!

So, first, let's tackle what I lost, and then we'll look at where I'm going from here:

Current weight: 77.9 kilos / 171.7 lbs

Weight lost: .3 kilos / .7 lbs

Total loss: 3.5 kilos / 8.6 lbs

That is a fantastic weight loss in only 5 days!

What am I doing from here?

According to several websites I read, you need to take a minimum of two transition days after an egg fast to slow down or even prevent weight gain following the fast.

This makes sense.

Having done several water fasts ranging from 36 - 90 hours, I know that there is always weight gain after a fast.

But following these transition days as they are laid out should at least minimize that, if not prevent it altogether.

Now, it's important to know that the weight gain is not fat, it's water weight. And if you continue doing low carb or keto, you will eventually lose that, but still....

I won't lie, I'm not crazy about doing the transition days, but I am 100% on board with not gaining a whole bunch of water weight.

So, here are what my two transition days will look like:

Breakfast: scrambled eggs (yes, again!) and a bulletproof tea or coffee

Lunch: protein with 1/2 cup of veg plus fat to satiation. This can be taco meat over lettuce (I'm not doing tomato as I suspect that the nightshades are causing weight stalls)

It can be tuna salad with avocado....or chicken breast over lettuce......or sauteed meat with a side of steamed veggies....

The point is to keep the vegetables at 1/2 cup to ease those carbs back in.

Fasting: 17-18 hours

Afterward

After my two transition days, I will be going back to OMAD (One Meal a Day) and doing my usual keto meals.

I will be posting meal plan posts, weekly wrap ups, and occasional recipes that I either follow or dream up, and other keto content that I've written before but have yet to post here.

But, I'm happy to be at the lowest weight I've been this year. And I'm close to being at the lowest weight I've been since starting Keto (and fell off the wagon).

LET'S GO!
