Have you ever heard of an egg fast?
While I've done water fasts and fat fasts, I had never tried an egg fast before.
But it kept coming up for me in the "For You" feed on YouTube, so I decided to give it a listen.
It works much like a fat fast, but with only eggs (minimum 6 a day to hit your protein minimum), a small amount of cheese if you like, 1 serving of fat per egg, and 2 servings max of your sweetener of choice (I use Stevia).
Also you need a lot of water.
I tried it about a month and a half ago, and in 3 days I was in ketosis.
Two days ago, this video by the Keto Twins compared the Beef Fast to the Egg Fast to see who lost more, and the Egg Fast won!
The Egg Fast is a great way to break a plateau, get into - or back into - ketosis fast, or just shed a fast handful of pounds.

Follow My Egg Fast
Today I'm embarking on a 5-day Egg Fast.
I will be posting each day - talking about how it is going, what I ate, and how much weight I've lost.
Let's get started!
Today I weighed in at 81.8 kilos (180.3 lbs). Now, to be sure, that was following my bowl of popcorn less than 12 hours before, plus a cup of coffee later.
I typically weigh in the mornings on an empty stomach - so I expect that tomorrow it will be down more than usual because I weighed later this morning and was only roughly 8 hours into a fast (when I typically fast 14-16 hours or more).
So far, I've had about 20g of cheese and a couple bites of what I made my family for lunch (making sure it is edible).
I am about to make myself a 4-egg scramble and hardboil 2 more eggs for later. With that, butter and coconut oil.
If I'm still feeling like I'm hungry, I will make a bullet-proof tea.
And that is it.
It is starting off a bit boring....but I'm sure in a day or so I will get bored of eggs and be looking to make them more fun.
