It is October 19, 2024, and I am starting fresh.
I began my Keto journey in February 2017. It was amazing and I did so well with it....until I lost my best friend a month later.
I remember using grief as an excuse for a giant bowl of popcorn...
My most favorite food on earth.
I wanted it for comfort (I'll be writing more on that in the future).
It's been a struggle - ups and downs.
If I'm honest, more downs than ups.
But I'm determined to win this battle.
Today I'm starting fresh -- I want to use this space to share my journey. If someone finds it, great. If not, it's a journal for me to share my food, recipes, thoughts....accountability.
Here's my plan:
Each Saturday: I'll share my menu for the next week, including fasting times; as well as an overview of that week for how I did.
Each day I will take pictures of what I eat and keep my diary here, at the end of the day I'll screenshot my macros from MFP and post here.
Each Wednesday I will weigh in.
I will also use my daily food check ins for opportunities to journal, share my thoughts -- share my struggles, and share what I'm learning.
So here I go:
Menu:
Sunday - Taco Salad - I usually only have one meal on Sundays. I will be speaking tomorrow so I'm going to want to be fasting for that. I will eat my first meal between 4-5 pm. Fasting time: 23-24 hours
Monday - Baked chicken with roasted veggies Fasting time: 22 hours
Tuesday - Fasting all day
Wednesday - Lunch: Tuna salad Fasting Time: 41 hours
Thursday: Fasting all day
Friday: Breakfast: Scrambled eggs and sauerkraut, Lunch: BLT Salad Fasting time: 41 hours
Saturday: TBD
As you can see, I'm starting some fasting and breaking my fasts with scrambled eggs.
